• Agriculture Department of Uttar Pradesh is continuously making efforts at various levels for promoting desi cow-based agriculture. 
  • Under the guidance of Hon’ble Chief Minister and Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, a single day training program on cow-based farming was organized on January 22, 2020 by Chandra Shekhar Azad Agricultural University at a cost of Rs 11.47 Lakhs to train 730 farmers from all the 27 districts located on the banks of Ganga River as Master trainers.
  • From 27-01-2020 to 31-01-2020, during the period of Ganga Yatra, 627 training programmes on cow-based natural farming were conducted against the proposed 526 training programmes in 1,038 village panchayats along the banks of river Ganga.
  • Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture), Government of Uttar Pradesh issued an Order for implementation of natural farming scheme on 26-20-2020. The order includes implementation of the scheme at least in one acre each under all the Krishi Vigyan Kendras in the control of Agriculture University, in each agriculture zones of each sub divisions of Agriculture Department, Departmental Agriculture demonstration and training centres, State agriculture management Institute, Rahmankheda, Lucknow.   • Three leading farmers were awarded for the promotion of natural farming practices on the Kissan Saman Diwas organized by the State Government on 23.12.2020. Each farmer was provided with a cash prize of Rs 75,000. A similar activity to award the farmers has been planned for this year as well.  The details of the farmers awarded last year is given below:

  • An action plan of Rs.197.22 crores for the implementation of natural farming scheme in an area of 38,670 Ha in 35 districts has been prepared as per the guidelines issued by the Government of India for the implementation of BPKP. The action plan has already been forwarded for the approval of Government of India.
  • In addition to this, 542 enterprising farmers are adopting natural farming on their own in an area exceeding 1000 acres in the State.
